There’s been a major turn of events for the Detroit Red Wings before puck drop on Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers.
There’s great news to report, as the Detroit Red Wings fans will get to see defenseman Simon Edvinsson suit up tonight against the Edmonton Oilers.
It looked like Edvinsson might have to contend with an injury after leaving Wednesday’s game against the Calgary Flames. However, according to NHL Insider Michael Russo, he’ll be slotting in tonight against the second half of the stretch in Alberta.
He’ll be facing off against the Edmonton Oilers, who have been a tough customer in the past, but could be taken apart piece by piece if the team plays a disciplined game tonight.
Edvinsson has played a total of 28 games this season for the Red Wings and scored 9 points (3-6) as Mortiz Seider’s partner on the left.

Edvinsson was selected 6th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft and has been a key piece in the ongoing rebuild, with Steve Yzerman in charge of drafting.
