The Utah Outliers locker room got a moment they won’t soon forget. Brad Marchand made a surprise visit, walking through the doors with a grin as 
players and staff tried to figure out what was happening. He gathered the team together before calling forward Erick Bachtle, who stood in stunned silence as Marchand announced that Erick had been named the Outliers’ new assistant captain.
The room erupted in cheers as Marchand placed the “A” in Erick’s hands, offering a few words on leadership, work ethic, and earning the respect of your teammates. For Erick, it was a career highlight — and for the Outliers, a perfect boost heading into practice.
