The Philadelphia Flyers (16-9-3) continue their homestand with a challenging task, matching up with the Las Vegas Golden Knights (14-6-9).
Philly is coming off a dominating 4-1 win vs. the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, going 3-2 over its past five games, and 7-3-0 over its last 10. For Vegas, they have been playing better recently, going 4-0-1 in their last five, with three of those games going to overtime. They are 5-2-3 in their last 10.
It will be a tough matchup for the Flyers, as the Golden Knights are a very sound hockey team. Vegas is one of the best faceoff teams in the league, so guys like Sean Couturier and Christian Dvorak will be leaned on.
Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Things to watch
For starters, Vegas goaltender Carter Hart will not play against his former team on Thursday. Arika Schmid was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate, then Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed that Hart will not play, and Schmid will get the nod.
Cassiday said that it was more about getting Schmid back in a game rather than avoiding giving Hart the start against the Flyers. Schmid’s last start was a shutout against the New Jersey Devils on 12/5. Hart had the last two starts, both of which went to overtime.
For the Flyers, they are running back the same lineup from Tuesday’s win against the Sharks. That means no Cam York. That said, one player I will be watching particularly closely is Ty Murchison. He looked great in his NHL debut. Now, we’ll get a chance to see if that was adrenaline or if he really can be a solid NHL defenseman.
Between the two teams, there have been a combined 21 overtime matchups this season. With the Flyers playing well and both teams having a tendency for the extra period, free hockey would not come as a shock on Thursday.
The Golden Knights are a challenging opponent. One with loads of skills, but also extremely well coached with plenty of structure. They will not make it easy for the Flyers. These are the kinds of games where you can really learn a lot about a team.
This is where Travis Konecny saying the team is “past measuring stick games” is tested.
