Mason Marchment, Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken have been struggling as of late, as they have won only three out of their last seven games. With this, they now have a 12-10-6 record and are sixth in the Pacific Division.

Now, with the Kraken struggling, one of their forwards has been mentioned as a player to watch as a potential trade candidate: forward Mason Marchment.

In his most recent 32 Thoughts column, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned that Marchment is a player to keep an eye on this season.

“It probably won’t happen until Jaden Schwartz returns, but keep an eye on Seattle’s Mason Marchment. He’s another one who had several pursuers that could re-visit trading for him,” Friedman wrote.

If the Kraken are out of a playoff spot closer to the deadline, it would make sense if they ended up shopping Marchment. This is because he is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) who chips in offensively and plays a heavy game. As a result, there would likely be a lot of interest in the 30-year-old if made available.

In 26 games so far this season with the Kraken, Marchment has recorded two goals, nine assists, 11 points, and 34 hits.
