In the fourth and final contest of the Rivalry Series, the match was evenly poised after the second period with neither side able to score.

The match came alive in the second period with three goals scored within three minutes. The United States struck the first blow five minutes into the second period with Caroline Harvey finding the back of the net.

The lead was short-lived with Canada equalising a minute later, through Brianne Jenner. The tit-for-tat exchange continued with the United States reclaiming their lead courtesy of a Laila Edwards goal (2-1).

The United States dominated the third period with Hilary Knight scoring a brace of goals, including a last-minute shot for a 4-1 victory.

“We expected them to come out swinging and were able to weather the storm,” said Team USA head coach John Wroblewski.

“This was a strong game and gives us a lot to think about as we head into Milan.”
