The Philadelphia Flyers (16-9-5) get a quick chance to right their wrongs from their shootout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes (20-9-2) on Saturday, as both teams went straight to Raleigh for Sunday’s rematch.
Sorry for the late preview, was not expecting to have to shovel this morning! We got much more snow than anticipated.
Back to hockey, it’s the end of a weekend home-and-home between the Flyers and Canes. It was a shootout loss for the Flyers in round one, with goals from Bobby Brink, Trevor Zegras, and Carl Grundstrom forcing OT and the shootout.
Carolina started off sluggish, but eventually turned things around en route to their win. Nikolaj Ehlers, Alexander Nikishin, and Seth Jarvis each scored for Carolina, with Jackson Blake scoring the lone shootout goal.
The two teams face off again on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. EST at the Lenovo Center. Here’s how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Things to watch
Still no word on Cam York, so it feels like it’ll be another game for Ty Murchison. He has looked great in his first bit of NHL action, but started to show his age, or lack thereof, on Saturday vs. the Hurricanes. Still, he has been a joy to watch.
Dan Vladar will inevitably be named the starter after Sam Ersson started last night. Vladar has yet to face Carolina this season.
Both meetings between the Flyers and Hurricanes have gone to overtime this season. Can Sunday’s game be the first to end in regulation?
