The fate of Vancouver Canucks forward Lukas Reichel on the National Hockey League’s waiver wire has been determined on Sunday morning following a post from Rick Dhaliwal.
“General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Lukas Reichel has been placed on waivers and designated non-roster waiver status.” the Canucks said on X yesterday.

Despite some believing that there would be interest in Lukas Reichel on the waiver wire with the 23-year-old only earning $1.2 million this season before becoming a restricted free agent in July, it looks like he’ll be remaining in the Vancouver Canucks organization, for now.
In a social media post on Sunday morning, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali shared that Lukas Reichel has cleared waivers and can now be assigned to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks.
Dhaliwal went on to add that the Vancouver Canucks are still trying to trade Lukas Reichel and there is a chance that a deal could happen in the near future.
“Lukas Reichel has cleared waivers.” Dhaliwal said.
He added, “Canucks are trying to trade Reichel.
There is a chance of a deal happening.”
Reichel, a native of Nuremberg, Germany, hasn’t been a great fit for the Vancouver Canucks, registering just one assist, four penalty minutes and is a minus-five in 14 games with the club.
We’ll have to wait and see what occurs in the coming days, but with teams passing on the chance to pick up the former first round pick for free off of waivers, it would be a big surprise if a trade occurred involving Lukas Reichel before the NHL’s holiday roster freeze goes into effect on Saturday.
