Florida has had a season of highs and lows. They got things off to a nice start with three consecutive wins, only to follow them up with four straight losses. Up until close to Thanksgiving, they couldn’t put more than two wins in a row together. With an 8-3 win over Nashville on Nov. 24, they improved to 12-9-1, but then things fell apart agai,n and they lost four in a row. But things have gone well over the last week or so, with a shutout win over the Stars in Dallas on Saturday (4-0), they improved to 16-13-2 and won their fourth in five games. As for Tampa Bay, they bounced back from a 1-4-2 start to win seven of eight to improve to 8-5-2. Their seven-game win streak ended with a 2-1 loss to New York on Dec. 2, which kicked off a four-game losing streak.  They last played on Saturday in New York, where they lost to the Islanders 3-2 in a shootout.
