Both UMD hockey teams stay put in the polls
After playing their final games of 2025, both UMD hockey teams remain in the top-5 nationally. In this week’s USCHO poll, each Bulldog squad was slotted at No. 5.
On the men’s side, this comes even after a weekend split with Arizona State, which received the seventh-most votes outside of the rankings. UMD is 14-6 and was placed second-highest among NCHC programs behind North Dakota.
Scott Sandelin and Co. return to action against Manitoba at 7:07 p.m. on Jan. 2.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs women’s team also landed at five despite not playing this week. Laura Schuler’s crew is 12-6 following a sweep of Bemidji State almost two weeks ago.
UMD is also off until Jan. 2 when it faces Harvard in Belfast, Northern Ireland at 1 p.m.
