Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Artyom Levshunov will sit out Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs as a healthy scratch.
The move comes as discipline for the 20-year-old blueliner after he showed up late to the team’s practice on Monday.

Selected second overall in the 2024 draft, Levshunov has one goal and 14 points in 31 games with the Blackhawks this season. He appeared in 18 games with the team last season, posting six assists.
Scratching Levshunov leaves the Blackhawks without another promising young talent as the team remains without star forward Connor Bedard, who has been ruled out into the new yeardue to an upper-body injury.
Chicago enters Tuesday’s game in Toronto sitting three points back of the San Jose Sharks for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with one game in hand.
