SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Mitchell Marlins girls hockey team dropped an away contest over the weekend, falling 9-4 against the Sioux Falls Flyers on Sunday.
Mitchell posted two goals in the first and third period, respectively, but was outshot 65-13 for the game. The Marlins were led by Livaya Mimmack with two goals and an assist, as MaKenna Tronnes offered two assists and a goal. Taylor Sorben added a goal with 27 seconds left in the final period to round out the scoring for Mitchell.
The Flyers (6-0) had seven different players score a goal and have outscored their opponents 46-7 on the year. Mitchell had the most goals scored on the Sioux Falls Flyers all season with four.
The Marlins (1-5) will be back to host Sioux Center (Iowa) at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 at the Mitchell Activities Center.
