Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers superstar
Hollywood can learn a thing or two from the NHL’s scriptwriters these days. We got a must-see matchup of Tristan Jarry and the Edmonton Oilers vs. Stuart Skinner and the Pittsburgh Penguins, just days after they were traded for each other. And of course, it was Connor McDavid who stole the show with a spectacular goal against his old teammate.

Gotta be tough for Skinner. Back to back cup appearances with this team, then you blink and you’re playing AGAINST McDavid and he’s skating 17,000 miles an hour directly at you and decides to score on command. I’d feel like I was in a nightmare pic.twitter.com/CaeNYIMZ5l

Skinner certainly had seen this kind of thing in practice many times over the years, but this one counted. And it no doubt stung. Facing his old teammates, Skinner couldn’t do much but watch as McDavid registered three points, including that spectacular goal, and Leon Draisaitl had four assists (including his 1,000th career point), all on the way to an Oilers 6-4 win.

Skinner allowed five goals on 22 shots for a .773 save percentage.

And new Oilers goalie Jarry, by the way? He stopped 27 of 31 shots for his second win in two tries with the Oil.

Just before gametime, ironically, McDavid and Skinner exchanged a warm embrace and had a few words in the bowels of PPG Paints Arena.

Perhaps McJesus warned him of what was about to come.

One more fun note from this one: The trade is still so fresh, that Jarry and Skinner were still wearing their old teams’ masks… against each other.

We got Tristan Jarry playing for the Oilers in a Penguins mask, and Stuart Skinner playing for the Penguins in an Oilers mask… 😭😵‍💫 pic.twitter.com/xsz5J6c0xK

Apparently, seeing the Oilers’ mask on the opposing netminder didn’t throw the Edmonton superstars off their game.
