The Florida Panthers (17-13-2) return home after a successful road trip to play host to the Los Angeles Kings (14-9-9) in the first of three games at Amerant Bank Arena over the next four days.
Florida evened up the season series with the Tampa Bay Lightning by besting their arch-rivals by a 5-2 count on Monday to conclude its four-game roadie with an impressive 3-1 record. Sam Reinhart scored shorthanded and on the power play, Brad Marchand notched the game-winner, Carter Verhaeghe contributed a goal and an assist and Anton Lundell also lit the lamp for the surging Cats, who are 5-1-1 in their last seven games.
The Kings started a three-game road trip off on the wrong foot, losing 4-1 to the Dallas Stars on Monday. Andrei Kuzmenko scored the only goal for the Kings, who saw number one goalie Darcy Kuemper leave the game with an upper-body injury after a collision with Mikko Rantanen late in the first period. The loss ended a four-game point streak (2-0-2) for Los Angeles, which has now lost three in a row.
