Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios announced Wednesday that the David Bell has been relieved from his role as head coach of the AHL’s Belleville Senators.

Andrew Campbell has been elevated to the role of interim head coach for the 11-14-3 club.

“We are constantly evaluating ways to improve our organization and felt the timing was right for a fresh voice and approach in Belleville,” Staios said. “We thank David for his time and commitment in Belleville and the Bay of Quinte and wish him well in his next opportunity.”

Bell took over head coaching duties on an interim basis in February 2023 before taking the full-time role three months later. He leaves the club with a 97-78-15-11 record over his time with the team.

Campbell, 37, has been an assistant coach with Belleville since July 1, 2024. As a player, he appeared in 42 games as an NHL defenceman with the Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs.
