Kirkland was recalled from AHL Calgary on Thursday.
Kirkland will give the Flames an emergency depth option at forward ahead of Thursday’s matchup with the Kraken. While the 29-year-old winger is unlikely to suit up, it would only take one last-minute injury or illness for the Winnipeg native to be pressed into service.
