It might be time for a new jersey, Tate.

Canadian pop star Tate McRae, who was born and raised in Calgary, was at the Saddledome last night watching the Flames take on the Seattle Kraken.

McRae, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, is known for some of her hit songs, including “Greedy,” “She’s All I Wanna Be,” and “You Broke Me First.”

Given her Calgary roots, McRae is a Flames fan and has been spotted at several games in the past. In those appearances at the Saddledome, she’s also been seen wearing a number of different jerseys.

While it was harder to tell in other pictures and videos that spotted the 22-year-old on Thursday night, the picture above, shared by the Flames, shows that she was sporting a Matthew Tkachuk jersey. She’s rocked a variety of jerseys over the year, including a Jarome Iginla sweater.

Showing up to a Flames game near the holidays is nothing new for McRae. She seems to be somewhat of a good-luck charm, as well.

The Flames were able to put up an impressive performance with her in the building last night, defeating the Seattle Kraken 4-2 in a game in which they outshot their opponent by a lopsided 46-23.

Last season, McRae was in the building on Dec. 19 during a game versus the Ottawa Senators. Though the Flames were unable to pull out a win, falling in overtime by a 3-2 final, they did pick up a single point, which allowed them to remain in a wild-card position in the Western Conference.

Nearing the holiday break during the 2023-24 season, McRae was once again at the Saddledome to cheer on the Flames in a game versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Flames impressed in that outing, walking away with a 4-2 victory.

Though it’s been a struggling season for the Flames, last night’s win was enough to put them in a tie points-wise with the Winnipeg Jets and Chicago Blackhawks for 27th in the NHL standings. They’ve been playing better hockey as of late, winning six of their last 10 outings.

The Flames will be back in action on Saturday night at the Saddledome against a divisional foe in the Vegas Golden Knights.
