Patrick Kane’s undisclosed injury will keep him out of the lineup longer, but Moritz Seider is good to go in Saturday’s road game against the Washington Capitals (12:30 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).
Seider’s available became a question because Seider didn’t participate in today’s practice. That’s significant because Seider hasn’t missed a game since he launched his NHL career in 2021-22. He has played 363 consecutive games. It’s a noteworthy achievement given his physical style.
Seider came on the ice before practice, without equipment, and skated but left the ice before practice began
“Maintenance day out there in a sweatshirt skating,” Detroit coach Todd McLellan said.
About Kane, McLellan said: “I think he skated before practice today, which is a good sign, but he won’t play tomorrow.”
Kane is going on the trip because this mom’s trip. Mothers are invited to go have an insider’s trip to watch their son.
“We’re taking everybody, which we should,” McLellan said.
