SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Mammoth will get a massive boost tonight when Alexander Kerfoot returns to the ice after missing the first 36 games with an abdominal injury.
The club activated the veteran center before opening up a two-game Delta Center homestand against the New Jersey Devils.
The Mammoth (17-16-3, 37 points) is hosting New Jersey (19-14-1, 39 points) at the Delta Center on Friday, December 19.

Earlier this week, Mammoth GM Bill Armstrong suggested that Kerfoot’s return was close.
“He’s close, I think he’s going to be right after Christmas,” Armstrong said of Kerfoot, who is traveling and practicing with the team. “He can play from the first line to the fourth line, and he’s just one of the best penalty killers in the league. He’s going to be a huge add for our team coming back in.”
Kerfoot played 81 games for Utah last season. He finished the year with 11 goals and 17 assists in his eighth NHL season.
