Game Preview

Welcome back to Northern California!

The Kraken have moved on from one of their offseason acquisitions, and are currently in a nearly unrecoverable tail spin. Naturally, they have to play one of the most exciting teams in the Pacific Division; one they have historically had bizarre games with.

Last time these two teams met, the Kraken won; albeit while also losing Matt Murray to injury. As for whether or not the same tactics of largely taking advantage of how open the ice is in San Jose will work without the various players on the mend that Seattle has? Well, it’s worked some of the time. The problem is that third periods, and especially third period leads have been death for the Kraken lately, and right now, nobody in the league is better at coming back in games they have no business being in like the San Jose Sharks. They make for a wildly entertaining product, if nothing else.

That said, I think we all know this game has to be quick. Either they prove they aren’t as bad as one of the worst teams of the last 5 years or they make it very clear they deserve to be in the Gavin McKenna sweepstakes, and should thus spend the next few weeks coming up with ways to trade roster talent in order to get picks or prospects or both back.

Either way, decisions are key here. The Kraken will have more open ice than they usually do, so it behooves them to make something of it.

LET’S GO KRAKEN, LET’S GO SQUIDS
