COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Indiana Sentinels scored three unanswered goals in the third period — all while on the power play — to rally and turn back the Watertown Wolves and record a 6-4 victory on Saturday night in a Federal Prospects Hockey League game at Hamilton Community Ice Arena.
Denver Craig supplied a pair of goals and goaltender John Werber made 16 saves to record the win for the Sentinels (5-15-2), who are an expansion team.
Steven Klinck generated a pair of goals for the Wolves (9-11-2), who split the two-game set with Indiana.
After Indiana built a 2-0 lead, Darion Benchich scored a goal later in the first period for the Wolves and teammates Egor Filippov and Steven Klinck each followed with a goal to provide their team with a 3-2 lead with eight minutes and 34 seconds remaining in the second period.
The Sentinels drew even on a power-play goal from Ashton Collazo, but Klinck restored the lead at 4-3 with a power-play tally of his own with 2:24 left in the middle frame.
The while on the man advantage, Craig scored the tying goal 6:45 into the third period, Ethan Esposito generated the game-winning tally 9:29 in and Craig added a goal in the final minute.
Earlier, Nolan Dawson and Ryan Glazer each provided Indiana with a goal in the opening period.
Goalie Breandan Colgan made 21 saves in taking the loss for Watertown, which had won its past three games.
The Wolves finished 3-2 on its five-game road swing, which also included wins at the Blue Ridge Bobcats last weekend.
The Wolves had won four of previous six outings.
Watertown will host the Binghamton Black Bears at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, with both games at Watertown Municipal Arena.
