Along with a pair of assists, McDavid pushed his point streak to 10 games (12 goals, 14 assists for 26 points).
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice and had an assist, Zach Hyman scored and had an assist, and Leon Draisaitl had two assists for the Oilers (18-13-6), who rounded out a five-game road trip with back-to-back games. Connor Ingram made 26 saves in his Oilers debut and first NHL game since Feb. 22 with Utah.
Tomas Hertl had a goal and two assists, Mitch Marner scored and had an assist, and Noah Hanifin added three assists for the Golden Knights (16-8-10), who were also wrapping up a back-to-back of their own after losing 6-3 at the Calgary Flames on Saturday. Carter Hart made 17 saves.
McDavid put Edmonton ahead 1-0 at 9:11 of the first period, taking a short pass from Draisaitl after gaining the zone, circling in from the right dot and gliding across the front of the crease before depositing the puck past the extended right pad of Hart.
Nugent-Hopkins made it 2-0 on the power play at 14:37, after Draisaitl passed across the seam to find him at the backdoor for the five-hole tap in for his ninth goal of the season.
He followed up with his 10th and extended the Oilers lead to 3-0 again on the power play at 2:22 of the second period. Draisaitl got his own rebound at the left side of the net and passed it out front. It hit off a skate and went right to McDavid, who swung it to the right side of the net to Nugent-Hopkins, who put it past Hart’s glove.
Hyman made it 4-0 at 7:45, taking a pass from Darnell Nurse into the slot off the rush and lifting it over top of a prone Hart.
Hertl got the Golden Knights on the board to make it 4-1 at 12:59, taking a pass in the slot from Marner along the left boards and sending a wrist shot past Ingram’s blocker for the power-play goal.
Pavel Dorofeyev made it 4-2 at 3:52 of the third period, picking up the rebound off a slap shot from the point by Hertl and sending it under a diving Ingram on the power play.
Marner brought the Golden Knights to 4-3 at 5:49, taking a centering pass from Hertl amid a crowded net front and sending the puck in behind Ingram.
