Leafs lineup news: Domi, Lorentz will replace Cowan, Jarnkrok vs. Stars

Easton Cowan and Calle Jarnkrok will come out of the lineup. Cowan has been a bright spot for the Maple Leafs’ amid a difficult season and was placed alongside Matthew Knies and Auston Matthews during Saturday’s loss to the Nashville Predators.

Dennis Hildeby is the projected starter for the Maple Leafs, after Joseph Woll started Saturday’s game.

It’s likely that Domi will be placed on the first line alongside Matthew Knies and Auston Matthews, in place of Cowan. Domi has recorded three goals and 12 points in 32 games this season. Knies-Matthews-Domi are the Maple Leafs’ second-most commonly used forward combination at 5-on-5 this season, sporting a minus-1 goal differential and 44.7 percent share of the expected goals in 100 minutes at 5-on-5 via Natural Stat Trick.

Joshua could slot in on the fourth line as the right wing, with Matias Maccelli appearing likely to remain in a top-six role alongside John Tavares and William Nylander.

“I don’t have an issue with motivating the team, looking at things and correcting them and being positive at the same time, that’s my job,” Berube said following Saturday’s loss. “So it’s not difficult for me, but like I said, we’ve got a game tomorrow, so we’ve got to clean things up and go play a real good team.”
