New York Islanders
Bo Horvat took to the ice in a red non-contact jersey with the New York Islanders at practice on Monday.
Horvat, 30, rejoined practice for the first time since sustaining a lower-body injury on Dec. 11 against the Anaheim Ducks.
The London, Ont. native did not take part in line rushes on Monday, and head coach Patrick Roy later revealed that he is doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
Horvat has totaled 19 goals and 12 assists across 32 appearances for New York this season, leading the team with 31 points.
The 12th-year forward has enjoyed a stellar start to the season, and has played his way into contention for Team Canada’s Olympic roster, which will be announced on Dec. 31.

Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski will miss Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings with a lower-body injury, the team announced.

Werenski exited Columbus’ game on Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks in the third period after blocking a shot with his right leg.
The 28-year-old blueliner struggled to get back to the bench after the play, and later underwent x-rays that came back clean.
Werenski is now set to miss his first game of the season with the injury.
After Monday’s game, Columbus is off until Dec. 28 for the holiday break, giving Werenski over a full week to recover from the injury.
The Grosse Pointe, Mich. native has posted 14 goals and 26 assists in 34 games played this season, and is currently second among all NHL defencemen with 40 points.
Carolina Hurricanes
Seth Jarvis and Jaccob Slavin will both be out on a week-to-week basis for the Carolina Hurricanes with upper-body injuries, the team announced Monday.

Jarvis, 23 was injured in Friday’s 4-3 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers while colliding with the post.He was helped back to the locker room and did not return to the contest.
Head coach Rod Brind’Amour said after the game that the injury was “not good”, and Jarvis would “be out a while.”
The Winnipeg native leads Carolina with 19 goals on the year, also adding eight assists for 27 points in 33 games.
Slavin, 31, had recently returned from a lengthy injury absence on Dec. 14, and now heads back on the shelf after just three games back with the team.
Like Jarvis, Slavin did not appear in the second half of the team’s back-to-back weekend set after logging 18:36 of ice time in Friday’s game.
In just five games for Carolina this year, Slavin has gone without a point as part of an injury-riddled campaign.
The Erie, Colo. native had previously eclipsed the 75-games played mark in each of the past four seasons.
Seattle Kraken
Seattle Kraken defenceman Brandon Montour is expected to be out for approximately four weeks after undergoing hand surgery, the team announced Monday.
Montour, 31, exited Seattle’s game against the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 16 with the injury, and has also missed each of the team’s past two games.
The Brantford, Ont. native has since been placed on injured reserve while recovering from the procedure.
Montour has recorded six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 27 contests on the year while averaging 21:56 of ice time in his second season with the Kraken.
Los Angeles Kings
The Los Angeles Kings have inked Jimmy Lombardi to a three-year entry-level deal, the team announced Monday.
Lombardi, 18, was selected by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft this past June.
A native of Toronto, Lombardi has set a career-high 21 goals in 33 games for the Ontario Hockey League’s Flint Firebirds.
He is currently committed to play NCAA hockey for the Michigan Wolverines.
