It’s time to ring in another week of the 2025-26 hockey season.
Teams across the state have been busy and with the schedule easing up over the next week, it’s a perfect time to update the rankings.
Here is the girls hockey Top 5 through Dec. 21.
1-Princeton Day (4-0)
Princeton Day has been a force so far, winning all four of its games by at least four goals. The team is averaging just under seven goals per game to this point. The Panthers already have in-state wins against Pingry, Immaculate Heart and Chatham-Millburn-Livingston. They’re idle until Jan. 12.
2-Morristown-Beard (7-0)
No one in the state has more wins to this point than Morristown-Beard. The team is on a roll with in-state wins against Summit, Oak Knoll, Kent Place and Immaculate Heart. All but one of the seven wins came by at least three goals. The next game this team plays is Jan. 5 against Pingry.
3-Immaculate Heart (3-2)
Immaculate Heart won its first two games against Chatham-Millburn-Livingston and Kent Place before falling to Princeton Day and Morristown-Beard. The brief slide ended with a 7-1 win over Pingry on Friday. The Blue Eagles are idle until Jan. 6.
4-Kent Place (1-2)
Kent Place’s season started well with a 10-4 win over Oak Knoll but the team fell in its last two games against Immaculate Heart and Morristown-Beard. The Dragons get another shot at Morristown-Beard on Jan. 9.
5-Pingry (1-2)
Pingry has an 11-4 win on its resume sandwiched between tough losses to Princeton Day and Immaculate Heart. The team is hanging on to a Top 5 spot but there are some teams just on the outside that are giving it a push. The Big Blue are next in action on Jan. 5 against Morristown-Beard.
