The Sportsnet staff reported on Foote’s comments on Pettersson, and how he should be returning by the end of the week. He is confirmed to not be dressing tonight, missing his eighth consecutive game. But the Canucks are on a four game win streak without him, it does suggest something regarding his presence.

“Foote added Pettersson “tweaked or jammed” the injury in recent days. When Pettersson does return, it will mark his 500th career NHL game. The Swede has eight goals and 14 assists in 28 games this season.”-Sportsnet

Pettersson has been under fire recently after details have come out relating to him and Quinn Hughes’ relationship. With reports coming out that they had a falling out, after details came out that Hughes grew tired of Pettersson’s laziness during the offseason. Pettersson has now seen Bo Horvat, J.T. Miller and now Hughes leave the team. And rumours are circulating that he is a cancer in the locker room.

We will see how the Canucks do once he returns to the lineup, if they keep their momentum going and if the locker room synergy stays the same.
