New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes is back for the team’s game on Sunday, Dec. 21.

The team announced on Sunday that Hughes had been activated off injured reserve after missing six weeks following finger surgery.

Hughes is expected to be in the starting lineup when the Devils host the Buffalo Sabres at the Prudential Center at 7 p.m.

Hughes, who has missed 18 games, injured his hand at a team dinner when it has been reported he “slipped and cut his hand.”

Also on Sunday, the Devils activated forward Arseny Gritsyu and assigned F Nathan Légaré to Utica (AHL).
