The Seattle Kraken lost another top defenceman to injury Monday night.

Vince Dunn was injured early in the third period of a game against the Anaheim Ducks on an open-ice hit from Ducks forward Ross Johnston near the Anaheim blue line.

Dunn was slow to get up after the hit but skated off the ice on his own power in visible frustration. He did not return to the game.

The injury comes after the Kraken announced earlier in the day that Brandon Montour will miss four weeks due to hand surgery. Dunn and Montour lead the Kraken in ice time per game.

The Kraken held on to beat the Ducks 3-1 for their second win in a row, but just third win in December.
