The Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks have already done one big bit of business this season.

That was the recent trade that sent superstar defenseman Quinn Hughes to the Wild.

They might not be done.

The Fourth Period has reported that the Wild may be looking to trade for a top-six winger.

The name they mention? Kiefer Sherwood.

Sherwood got off to a fast start this season scoring. At this point, he has played 36 games, scored 16 goals and dished out four assists. And of course, he has 164 hits.

Sherwood had a remarkable 462 hits last season to go along with 19 goals and 21 assists in 78 games.

The 6-foot native of Columbus, Ohio will turn 31 in March.

Sherwood is currently playing on a very affordable $1.5 million salary, which both should have lots of teams interested and should help the Canucks get a solid return for him in a deal.

What are the odds these teams actually align on another deal? Maybe not huge.

But it’d sure be interesting if they did, and Sherwood would bring a fascinating new player to the Wild as they try to continue surging further into contention.
