The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed forward Oscar Eklind to a one-year deal, it was announced earlier this week.

Eklind, who recently finished his first season with the Flyers organization, spent the entire year with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, scoring five goals and adding 17 assists for 22 points in 64 regular season games. He also played in seven playoff games, putting up a goal in the process.

Before signing with the Flyers as an undrafted free agent last summer, Eklind spent parts of eight seasons playing pro in Sweden, suiting up in both the HockeyAllsvenskan and the SHL. Over 160 career SHL regular season games, he collected 30 goals and 28 assists for 58 points.

With Eklind signing on for anther year with the Flyers, he has proven to be a valuable depth piece for the organization. As he enters training camp this coming fall, Eklind could be a candidate to make some noise and challenge for a roster spot with the team.
