Pre-tournament World Junior hockey action continued Monday night at the Sanford Center. The last of three games in Bemidji matched up Slovakia and Czechia.
Czechia features a team with 13 NHL Draft picks, including Minnesota Wild pick Adam Benák. He was a fourth-round pick of the Wild in last spring’s draft.
Despite standing just 5 ft. 8 in., Benák turned heads at the Wild’s Prospect Showcase this past September, and he’s hoping to help Czechia medal for the fourth straight year. And in Monday’s exhibition game, Czechia won 2-1 in overtime.
This was the final game of the Bemidji Pre-Tournament Series. The actual World Junior Tournament begins Friday in St. Paul.
