What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – The thing that stands out the most is just how much value there is in playing the top Vegas players at home vs. the Sharks. I expect the Vegas top power-play guys to be all very highly owned. They will be fine plays, but outside of them, I will not be considering ownership much. In my lineups without Vegas skaters, whomever the Sharks end up starting in net will likely be my top goalie. He will have a lot of leverage on the field, and for how cheap he is, he has a decent shot at getting a win vs. a Vegas team that is without Jack Eichel and Shea Theodore.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Both Nathan MacKinnon and Connor McDavid draw solid matchups at home to continue their scoring streaks. Getting equal shares of both players will be my priority, especially on a 12-game slate. Vegas is underpriced and has a great matchup, but I think their ownership will be inflated, so I’ll likely fade them and instead turn to some value skaters from the Flyers and Kings.
Joda: Single-entry tournaments are my preferred format tonight. Even on a 12-game slate, I expect a lot of attention on the Vegas Golden Knights, who are simply mispriced for the matchup on home ice. In large-field GPPs, you can play them given the slate size, but in single-entry GPPs, I would look elsewhere. Also, if you take a stand on some players early and fall behind, moving off Vegas to a team like the Kings could be a way out. Ottawa’s top 6 has looked good of late, and Philadelphia has some cheap filler lines that allow you to spend up on high-priced stacks like Colorado, Edmonton, and Minnesota.
