The Philadelphia Flyers snuck out of Chicago with a 3-1 win vs. the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. However, the win did not come without a loss.
The Flyers had two players exit the game on Tuesday, as both Denver Barkey and Travis Sanheim left the contest with an apparent injury.
Barkey’s injury seemed to have occurred in the second period at the 17:47 mark. Barkey got called for boarding on Wyatt Kaiser. Kaiser then went after Barkey, as the 20-year-old rookie was at the bottom of the pile in a scrum.
The broadcast showed Barkey in the penalty box, where he looked to be in pain. It looked like he was trying to move his jaw in the box.
He did not return after the penalty was killed.
Sanheim was likely injured 7:29 into the third period on the play that earned Alex Vlasic an interference penalty.
Vlasic seemingly got Sanheim up high, who then hit the ice hard. Sanheim was down for a little while, then got up and immediately started talking back to the Blackhawks. The trainers eventually took Sanheim down the tunnel. He did not return to the game.
There was no official update provided by the Flyers on either player.
With the holiday break beginning on Wednesday, both players will have until Sunday to heal, if injured, before the Flyers’ next game.
