The deadline for Team USA to set their roster for the upcoming Olympics is quickly approaching and they are going to have some tough decisions to round out their roster. One player who is probably a longshot but will at least garner a discussion is Buffalo Sabres forward Josh Doan.

Over the first part of the season, Josh Doan has been one of the Buffalo Sabres most consistent players. He has already new career-highs in goals (10) and assists (14) with a significant part of that production coming on the power play with four goals and five assists.

The production of Doan has helped save the Sabres’ return for JJ Peterka, who they traded to the Utah Mammoth during the summer. He is the type of player who does all the little things that help a team, as he plays with effort and wins puck battles.

Josh Doan would certainly provide value to Team USA in the Olympics

Entering the Olympics, Team USA should be considered one of the favorites to take home a gold medal. They are going to have one of the most talented rosters top to bottom in this year’s games.

For Doan, that makes it a little bit of a tough hill to climb but based on what he has done with the Sabres, he has made a strong case for himself. He also is no stranger to international play as he was apart of the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship team that would win gold this summer.

The way that Josh Doan plays, he would be a great addition as one of the final forward spots on the roster. However, the players Team USA will have to pick from probably pushes Doan off the roster but the fact that it is even a discussion shows just how much Doan has improved this season playing for the Buffalo Sabres
