The Philadelphia Flyers suspended their radio broadcast team after an inappropriate comment was made during the Flyers-Sabres game on Dec. 18
Announcer Tim Saunders thought the broadcast had gone to break when he made a sexual joke
The Flyers said the comments “do not reflect the standards of conduct or values we expect from anyone associated with our organization”
The Philadelphia Flyers have suspended their radio broadcast team after a sexually inappropriate comment was made during their game against the Buffalo Sabres.
The hot mic moment came as Tim Saunders and Todd Fedoruk were calling the game on Thursday, Dec. 18 and Saunders, who has been with the team since 1997, thought the broadcast was on a commercial break.

In a recording of the broadcast shared on X, moments of silence and humming fill the dead air before Saunders is heard making a sexual comment. Fedoruk, a former Flyers player who began announcing for the team in 2023, then informed his co-host they were still live.
“I think we’re still on the air, Tim,” he says.

Saunders seemed to think it was a joke at first, laughing, before asking, “No we’re not, are we?”
On Friday, the Flyers addressed the NSFW moment and announced the radio broadcast duo would be suspended.
“We are aware of the inappropriate comment made during last night’s radio broadcast in the TV timeout of the Flyers-Sabres game,” the team began in the statement.

The Flyers said Saunders’ remarks “do not reflect the standards of conduct or values we expect from anyone associated with our organization.”
“Effective immediately, the Flyers, along with our radio partners, 97.5 The Fanatic, have issued a two-game suspension while we address this matter with all parties involved,” the team said, adding that the organization takes the matter “very seriously” and “sincerely” apologizing to “our listeners, fans and all those affected by these comments.”
Next, the Flyers will travel to New York to take on the Rangers Saturday afternoon, sans Saunders and Fedoruk on the radio broadcast.
