The Edmonton Oilers will be placing forward David Tomasek on waivers when the NHL’s holiday roster freeze lifts on Sunday.

Tomasek had three goals and five points in 22 games with the Oilers this season.

The 29-year-old signed a one-year deal with Edmonton as a free agent on Apr. 2 for the 2025-26 season.

Tomasek played in Sweden with Farjestad BK in 2024-25, scoring 24 goals with 57 points in 47 games.

The Prague, Czechia native helped his country win gold at the 2024 IIHF World Championship on home ice.
