As the Leafs prepare for Game 7 Sunday night, they were able to avoid one controversial official and may have an advantage with the two selected to call the game.

Under McCauley, the Leafs are now 0-10 in the post-season, but will thankfully avoid him for Game 7.

In games officiated by either Hebert or Rooney this season, the Leafs are 9-1-1 while the Panthers are 7-4-3. Both officials favoured home teams during the regular season as well, with home teams winning an average 66.5% of games when one or both of Hebert and Rooney wore the stripes.

Joining Hebert and Rooney on the lines are Devin Berg and Jonny Murray, so it is a very experienced crew in charge of managing the post-whistle scrums Sunday night.

Officiating has been questionable across the entire playoffs so far with teams and fans not knowing what is and isn’t a penalty game-to-game or even period-by-period sometimes. Hopefully, tonight’s game is called evenly on both sides at the very least, so that the officials don’t become the reason the game is won or lost.
