FLINT – Another Flint Firebirds star has put pen to paper on a National Hockey League contract.
Jimmy Lombardi, 18, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings.
Lombardi, who is currently second on the Firebirds in points with 41, was selected by the Kings in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft.
The third-year Firebird has 21 goals (T-3rd in OHL) and 20 assists in 33 games and was named an alternate captain for the squad this season. The Toronto native has tallied 41 goals and 65 assists in 158 games played with the Firebirds.
Lombardi is the second player to ink an NHL deal this season as Nathan Aspinall, captain of the Firebirds, signed with the New York Rangers in October.
The Firebirds are currently first in the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference with 52 points.
