As you know, the Montreal Canadiens’ major summer acquisition on offense by Kent Hughes is Zachary Bolduc.

There have been some questions surrounding the Quebec-born forward since the start of the 2025-2026 National Hockey League season, as Bolduc has notably moved between the first and fourth lines.

In short, there is one individual who knows him very well and who recently agreed to comment on this summer acquisition by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

St. Louis Blues head coach Jim Montgomery weighs in on Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens acquiring Zachary Bolduc

Here is what the Blues bench boss had to say about Bolduc, as reported by TVA Sports journalist Anthony Martineau.

Jim Montgomery (his former coach with the Blues) on Zachary Bolduc:

“A very easy guy to coach. A lot of talent and very hard-working. A noticeable physical presence as well.”

I continue to believe that we need to be patient with Bolduc.

In his post, Anthony Martineau mentions that he still believes patience is required with Bolduc, and I couldn’t agree more.

In fact, in my opinion, it shouldn’t even be a question!

It would be completely ridiculous to lose patience with Zack Bolduc, especially considering he is only 22 years old-and especially considering he hasn’t even played half a season yet with the Tricolore.

I hope we stay patient with him, for the love of it! It’s the least we can do!

I also continue to believe that this trade (Zachary Bolduc for Logan Mailloux) remains an excellent deal-borderline a steal-for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
