The Toronto Maple Leafs price for Vancouver Canucks superstar Elias Pettersson has been revealed.
After trading away Norris Trophy winning defenseman Quinn Hughes, the Vancouver Canucks could still be in the market to sell, and fellow star Elias Petterson could be next.
Pettersson, 27, may find himself the next casualty of the rebuild for the Canucks, and could fetch an equally promising price as Hughes did.
Traded to the Minnesota Wild, the return for Hughes included top youngsters Liam Öhgren, Zeev Buium, & Marco Rossi in return going Vancouver’s way.
Pettersson’s market could catch a similar return, and this time the Toronto Maple Leafs could find themselves closer to the hunt.
What a potential Toronto Maple Leafs return for Elias Petterson could look like
Toronto doesn’t have a star prospect such as Zeev Buium or an expendable established young star like Marco Rossi, Toronto has Matthew Knies but he’s less likely to be moved compared to Rossi.
An established player could still headline a return for Pettersson, a player such as Easton Cowan as key to a return, along with a top prospect such as Ben Danford along with a first round pick.
The trade proposal is an idea of the potential framework that could go into a deal, not a confirmed trade proposal but what one could look like on Toronto’s end, one similar to a proposed package from Montreal.
The question becomes if the offer is enough for Vancouver to accept? Pettersson has not been the superstar he once was, with just 22 points in 28 games a season after a career low 45 points in 2024-25.
The return for Pettersson shouldn’t be as high as the return for Quinn Hughes, and could become a more affordable option for the Toronto Maple Leafs for a superstar level player.
