All this speculation about veteran goalkeeper Marc-Andre Fleury coming out of retirement and signing with an NHL team has generated plenty of buzz.

It even caught the attention of another former NHL all-star netminder.

It was TSN insider Pierre LeBrun who first broke the story about NHL teams contacting Fleury to gauge his interest in coming out of retirement to once again strap on the pads. And that drew the following reaction from former Vezina Trophy winner Ryan Miller.

Hearing anything for me @PierreVLeBrun ? I think I’m still within the @PhilipRivers range of a comeback… https://t.co/KF3NrlMPlK— Ryan Miller (@RyanMiller3039) December 23, 2025

“Hearing anything for me @PierreVLeBrun? I think I’m still within the @PhilipRivers range of a comeback…” Miller posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, in response to LeBrun’s post.

Long-time NFL quarterback Rivers, 44, recently came out of retirement and is now the starting QB for the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts lost their starter, Daniel Jones, to a season-ending Achilles injury.

He hadn’t played since starting all 16 games for the Colts in 2020. Rivers was the 2013 NFL Comeback Player of the Year and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection.

Miller Hasn’t Played Since 2021

It should be noted here that Miller is known for his dry sense of humor.

Miller, 45, hasn’t played an NHL game since 2021. He was an NHL netminder from 2003 to 2021, mostly with the Buffalo Sabres. Miller won the Vezina Trophy and was selected to the NHL First All-Star Team with the Sabres in 2009-10. That same year, Miller backstopped the USA to the silver medal at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. He was named MVP of the Olympic tournament. He is enshrined in the US Hockey Hall of Fame.

Miller also played in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, and Anaheim Ducks. He was selected to play in the 2006-07 NHL All-Star Game.Â
