Terms & Conditions Minnesota is led by lights-out defense
The Wild are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.00 goals per game including 18 goals in the last five games. Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov have scored 44 goals and 42 assists to lead the top line while Marcus Johansson, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Vladimir Tarasenko have combined for 27 goals and 47 assists to add depth to the forward unit. On top of that, recent addition Quinn Hughes has taken the offense up a notch with a goal and three assists in six games from the blue line.
The offense has stepped up but the defense has carried them, allowing only 2.58 goals per game with only 12 goals in the last five games. Brock Faber and Jonas Brodin have combined for 5.4 defensive point shares while Jared Spurgeon and Zach Bogosian have combined for 2.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been great in recent starts, allowing only nine goals in the last five.
Key injury report for Wild No key injuries to report. Jets have struggled on both ends lately
The Jets are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.91 goals per game with only seven goals in the last four games. Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor have combined for 34 goals and 52 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have seven goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.
The offense has struggled but the defense has also disappointed, allowing 3.03 goals per game including seven in the last two games. Josh Morrissey and Dylan DeMelo have combined for 5.2 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who is typically one of the best in the NHL, has struggled lately, allowing seven goals in his last two starts.
Key injury report for Jets No key injuries to report. Wild vs Jets PickMoney Line Pick For Wild vs Jets
The Wild have looked like one of the best teams in the NHL since the Quinn Hughes addition, and they look to take over this game from the first period. The Wild, who have scored 18 goals in their last five games, should find the back of the net at will with Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Wild, who allow only 2.58 goals per game, should limit the Jets offense with Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make plenty of big saves. The Wild should win the game with a strong performance on the road.
Take the Wild money line as road Favorites.
Over/Under Pick For Wild vs Jets
The Wild are led by their defense, and I see this game being a low-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Jets should limiting the Wild offense with Josh Morrissey, Dylan DeMelo, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves. The Wild, who have allowed only 12 goals in their last five games, should eliminate and potentially shut out the Jets offense, which has scored only seven goals in the last four games, with Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin, Zach Bogosian, and the rest of the defensive unit forcing turnovers in all three zones while goaltender Filip Gustavsson, who has allowed only nine goals in his last five starts, blanks the shots on the net. The Under should cover in a low-scoring game with both defenses stepping up.
Take the Under on 5.5 goals.
The Wild face the Jets with both teams looking to improve in the Central Division.
