Stuart Skinner’s new Penguins mask will be ready for the Penguins’ games coming out of the holiday break.
The mask was painted by Scott Williams in nearby Kittanning, Pa., the same artist who also painted the masks for Arturs Silovs and Penguins practice goaltender Mike Chiasson this season. Most goaltenders around the league use the same small group of painters for their masks, and so the masks for Silovs and Skinner were the first NHL team masks Williams has ever done. Pretty cool for those guys to opt for a local artist over the big names.

Of all of Williams’ work for the Penguins’ goaltenders this season, the coolest might be Chiasson’s tribute to the Penguins’ core — he has Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang sitting together on a bridge looking at the Pittsburgh skyline, with constellations forming their three Stanley Cups above:
