Scott Wedgewood stopped all 32 shots he faced on Tuesday night, and Samuel Girard’s unassisted goal at 7:57 of the second period stood up as the Avalanche topped the visiting Utah Mammoth 1-0. Colorado was outshot 32-26 and was dominated in the faceoff circle by the same 32-26 margin, but successfully killed off three power-play chances for the Mammoth and blocked 21 shots.

Vegas tied a franchise record, scoring five goals in the first period en route to a 7-2 thrashing of the visiting San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night that stopped a three-game losing streak. Mitch Marner scored twice, Reilly Smith added a goal and an assist, and Pavel Dorofeyev logged two helpers in the win. Brett Howden, Colton Sissons, Tomáš Hertl, and Mark Stone also lit the lamp.

Nathan MacKinnon leads the NHL with 30 goals and tops the Avalanche with 61 points, while Martin Nečas has 16 tallies. Wedgewood is 16-1-4 in 23 starts with two shutouts, a .924 save percentage, and an NHL-best 2.01 goals-against average.
