Major concern surrounding Lane Hutson’s brother, right in the middle of a World Junior Hockey Championship game.

This Saturday night, Team USA is facing Switzerland at the World Junior Championship, and during that game, Lane Hutson’s younger brother was the victim of a very unfortunate incident.

Cole Hutson leaves on a stretcher after being struck in the head by a puck

A very concerning scene as Cole Hutson was stretchered off the ice:

At the time of writing, there was no clear and official confirmation regarding the severity of the situation.

We’re holding our breath, because when the head is involved, it’s never something to take lightly.

For fans of the Montreal Canadiens, and for the hockey world in general, it’s impossible to remain indifferent.

Cole Hutson is Lane Hutson’s brother, and his name is already gaining serious traction in the hockey ecosystem. Drafted 43rd overall by the Washington Capitals, the left-shot defenseman has continued to fill the scoresheet at Boston University.

There has been recent talk of a 39-point season in 34 games, including 12 goals, which is huge for a defenseman.

It’s no coincidence that the IIHF presented him, ahead of the tournament, as a candidate to lead all defensemen in points.

Last year, he also made a strong impression at the World Juniors, enough to make a name for himself in the shadow of his brother.

Meanwhile, Lane Hutson is already a familiar face with the Canadiens. He broke a franchise record for a rookie defenseman with 65 points, surpassing Chris Chelios.

While we wait for a concrete update on Cole Hutson, the best instinct is a simple one: above all, we hope he’s okay, and then we’ll let hockey come after that.
