The Philadelphia Flyers have liked what they have seen from centre Christian Dvorak so far this season and they are in the process of trying to get him signed to a new contract.
Dvorak, 29, signed a one-year, $5.4 million contract with the Flyers in July and is not eligible to sign an extension until January 1, 2026.
During the “Saturday Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman reported the two side are working on a deal and suggested an extension could be ironed out soon.
“The Flyers and Dvorak are talking extension,” Friedman said. “He’s played very well there. From what I can say, there are other teams out there who do no expect Dvorak to hit the market. They think he’s going to sign, but both sides have to make it work.”
It is unclear as to the type of dollars Dvorak is looking for on a multi-year agreement, something both sides appear to be trying to finalize over the next week or so.
In 35 games with the Flyers so far this season, Dvorak has registered eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points.
