The Tampa Bay Lightning (21-13-3) defeated the Florida Panthers (20-15-2) 4-2 on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. With the win, the Lightning have now won three in a row.

After the Panthers scored first early in this game, the Lightning got a shorthanded goal from Jake Guentzel and a goal from Pontus Holmberg – both in the first period – to take a 2-1 lead. Nikita Kucherov scored twice, hitting what would prove to be the game winner early in the second period, before adding an empty-netter with under a minute to go en route to a 4-2 win.

Andrei Vailevskiy went 24-of-26 in net to earn the win. Sergei Bobrovsky was in net for the Panthers, and saved 21 of the 24 shots he faced in the losing effort.

The Lightning are back in action when they host the Montreal Canadiens in the second game of a back-to-back on Sunday evening. Puck drop from Benchmark International Arena is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Sunday evening between the Lightning and Canadiens.
