On Sunday night, the National Hockey League has a total of five games on the schedule. We have four games on ESPN+, and the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken matching up at 8 p.m. EST on NHL Network. We’re going to solely focus on the late game, since neither of those teams play on Saturday.

We’ll take a look at some same-game parlay (SGP) possibilities, and we’ll also kick the tires on some game prop plays to make things a little more interesting. Let’s get started.

NHL Best Bets for Philadelphia Flyers vs Seattle Kraken Matchup

Philadelphia Flyers at Seattle Kraken

The Flyers (19-10-7) and the Kraken (15-14-6) meet at Climate Pledge Arena at 8 p.m. EST on NHL Network to close out the Sunday slate.

The Flyers kicked off a five-game road trip in Chicago prior to the holiday break, but really, it’s like two separate trips. Sunday’s game begins a four-game slate against Seattle and the Western Canadian teams, and the Fly Guys will ring in the new year in Calgary.

Philadelphia is coming off a 3-1 victory against the Blackhawks prior to the holiday break, and they’re 2-0-1 in the past three outings, averaging 4.0 goals per game (GPG) in the span. The Flyers have allowed just three goals in their past two victories, too. The Under cashed in the win over the Blackhawks, snapping a three-game Over run.

In that win over Chicago, Samuel Ersson turned aside 20 of 21 shots, while Travis Konecny opened the scoring with a goal in the first period. Noah Cates had a power-play goal to make it 2-0 midway through the second period, while Carl Grundstrom put a bow on the scoring at 17:52 of the third period. Cates’ goal stood up as the game-winning tally, since Chicago netted one.

After the impressive win last time out, Ersson (6-4-4, 2.96 GAA, .872 SV%) is projected to start for the visitors, while the Seattle Kraken are expected to use Joey Daccord (10-9-4, 2.82 GAA, .902 SV%, 2 SO).

The Kraken finished up the first half strong, earning a 3-2 win in Los Angeles on Tuesday behind Daccord as big underdogs (+195) as the Under (5.5) cashed.  Seattle has three straight wins and the Under is 2-0-1 in the span.

Daccord started the month with a couple of stinkers, allowing 9 goals on just 35 shots in his first two starts, and he was pulled in Edmonton on Dec. 4. In the past five starts since, he has won three times, allowing just two goals in each of those outings.

If you’re looking to play props, outside of goaltender plays, look to Konecny. He has been red-hot, posting six goals and 16 points with a plus-6 rating and four power-play points in the past 13 games. For the chance to double up, Konecny is a great Anytime Goal Scorer (+200, FanDuel).

Trevor Zegras has been doing it, too, going for five goals and 11 points in the past nine outings. Cates is a longer shot, but he has averaged a point-per-game in the past four.

For the Kraken, Chander Stephenson is good for five goals and 10 points in the past 10 games despite a minus-6 rating. Eeli Tolvanen has a goal and seven points in the past five outings.

We’re going to roll with the Flyers to get the job done, as they’ve been hot lately, and we’ll go with the Under, as Daccord hasn’t been very giving.

Owen Tippett is starting to get going lately, as he has two goals in the past three games. He squeezed off 10 shots in a win over Vancouver on Monday, and he has 15 total SOG in the past four games, notching at least two in three of the past four outings. Go with Tippett to get to at least two shots here.
