The girls hockey and the boys basketball teams returned from their brief Christmas break to continue their regular seasons on the road Saturday afternoon.

The girls hockey team lost to Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake, but Morgan Gammill scored her first career varsity goal in the defeat.

The boys basketball team lost to Abington, one of the state’s top teams. The loss marked the Whaler’s first defeat of the season after they jumped out to a 3-0 record. Sophomore guard Burke Lombardi dropped 25 points, Gaven Smith scored 16 points, and Amare Bramwell scored 10 points.

The girls hockey team will attempt to win their first game of the season on December 29th when they travel to play Winchester High School at 12 p.m.

The boys basketball team will try to improve their record to 4-1 when they travel to play Martha’s Vineyard – who they beat 67-60 in their season opener on Nantucket – on January 3rd at 1:30 p.m.
