Game Preview

Welcome back from the Holiday! Let’s get back to where we were.

The Kraken are coming into this game with a 3 game winning streak against the California teams, and now face a Flyers team that is…good? It sure seems like it!

The Flyers are 3rd in the Metro, are on a 2 game winning streak, and while definitely not perfect, are an offense-first team of exhaustive, hard working players who attack the net relentlessly. They don’t always lead the game in shooting, but when they do shoot, they spring for quality almost exclusively, and having someone like Trevor Zegras makes that a helluva lot easier than it’s been in recent memory for Philly. Combine that with a defense that could actually call itself stout, and this is a very tough nut of a team to crack. While this year has taught us that just about everybody is capable of getting a playoff spot for a couple of weeks if they work hard enough and the Metro division is certainly no stranger to it, they might be in this particular fight for the long haul.

A big part of this hinges on seeing an old nemesis of the Kraken in Dan Vladar, who came here from Calgary. Vladar in his career is 7-1-1 against Seattle, and while they could in fact come up against Sam Ersson or Aleksei Kolosov, it is looking very much like he could end up in net. Solving their erstwhile foe will be a major part of getting over this team if the Kraken would like to continue their winning ways.

LET’S GO KRAKEN, LET’S GO SQUIDS
