The Grand Rapids Griffins’ incredible journey continued Saturday when Sebastian Cossa’s fourth shutout of the season carried them to a 3-0 win over Milwaukee for their 26th win in 28 games.
This is the best start for an AHL team in the league’s 90-year history.
Cossa made 26 saves to give the Griffins their 15th consecutive win, which is the sixth-longest streak in AHL history. Coach Dan Watson earned his 100th Griffins win.

The Griffins are playing without injured forwards Amadeus Lombardi and Carter Mazur, plus defenseman Shai Buium. They lost John Leonard and Nate Danielson to the Red Wings. Nothing seems to bother them as they continue to win.
Veteran Erik Gustafsson generated a goal and an assist to give him 10 points in six games. Sheldon Dries registered a goal and an assist. He has eight points in his past four games. Ondrej Becher earned his 13th assists. Michael Brandsegg-Nygard’s assist gives him 19 points in 23 games.
